Looking Backward Looking Forward
LBLF is a six-week public history summer program to deepen young people’s ties to their community by disrupting negative stereotypes of the neighborhood and countering them with pride in the positive contributions of Brownsville’s youth to the city, state, and nation.
2023's Theme: Youth Activism
Local youth will experience the history of Brownsville through a series of visits to sites of historical significance where they will have the opportunity to interview community elders and use their own creativity and vision to capture film and photographs inspired by the historic testimony.
