Brownsville Anti-Violence Project

The Brownsville Anti-Violence Project (BAVP) is committed to creating opportunities for youth to become involved in paid skill-building programming. Keeping this commitment in mind, the BAVP is launching and currently recruiting for the Young Adult Entrepreneurship Program (YAEP). Youth will learn about small business, the local economy in context and social entrepreneurship during a 12-week paid training with an experienced instructor. Brownsville's young entrepreneurs will then put their skills to use in an 8-week internship position with the BAVP. In their internship, Brownsville's young entrepreneurs will help build the marketing strategy and product-line of the "Brownsville: Stronger Together" anti-violence campaign. All projects will push forward the BAVP's mission to end gun and gang violence in the Brownsville (11212) neighborhood. This hands-on experience will be invaluable to any young person looking for direction on launching their own small business ideas. Expert guest speakers and designers will be integrated into the curriculum! We have 12 slots. They will go fast! If you or someone you know is 16-24 years old and lives in the 11212 zip code, apply online. Interested applicants may also send a request for more information to BAVPevents@gmail.com.
